Welcome to MUTH 102

Welcome!
MUTH 102 is the second quarter in a 2 year sequence of music theory courses that incorporates written theory and aural skills. second quarter content will include counterpoint (1:1, 2:1, and 4:1), and diatonic analysis. The aural skills component will focus on sight singing, intervals, melodic dictation, chord quality, and rhythm.
The keys to success in this class are as follows:
  1. Attend Class
  2. Do all Assignments
  3. Seek Help Early and Often
  4. Use the Theory Tutors
  5. Use the Software Available in the Computer Lab for Drill
  6. Remember that Speed is a measure of proficiency -- know your key signatures, scales, intervals, and chord spellings!
  7. Complete the Aural Skills Log for Each Week of Class
  8. Make Theory (the language of music) a part of all of your music activities!
  9. Sight Sing your Applied Lesson Materials
  10. Analyze your Applied Lesson Materials
