Dissonant intervals in 2:1 counterpoint must be approached by passing tones or neighbor tones. And resolved by a step.
In 2:1 couterpoint you must approached by step and resolved by a step. for examlpe C to A followed by C to B (major 7) must go up to C or back down to A, given that the bass note remains C.
